CALL TO ACTION – Educators to Testify at The Roundhouse

CALL TO ACTION – “Our Student’s Needs Are NOT Being Met.”

Please join us at The Roundhouse in Santa Fe on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 9 am – 1 pm. Educators will speak to legislators and share their testimonies on the many opportunities that are lost everyday because schools lack sufficient resources to meet all of our students’ needs. Teachers, students, parents, family and community members WE NEED YOUR HELP.

Our Native American Community Academy is asking you to stand in solidarity with our young people and NEA New Mexico in declaring that, “Our Student’s Needs Are NOT Being Met,” and that it is time that the meaningful resources are allotted to our children’s’ schools. According to NEANM, “Even this year, the budgets proposed both by the Democratic legislature and the Republican Governor, propose what are essentially flat budgets. Their 1.9% and 2.7% suggested increases are so small they won’t even make up for the increased costs of energy and health insurance, etc.”

The House and Senate Education Committee will hold a joint hearing.

Please note that the hearing will be in either the House Chambers or Room 307.  There will be National Education Association NM individuals stationed at the doors of The Roundhouse letting folks know where the hearing will be conducted. All NEA NM Members should meet in The Rotunda at 9 am for a briefing.

George Sheridan, NEA NM Executive Committee Member will be address the briefing.

NEA New Mexico Members please show up and stand up! You will be allowed a 2-3 minute testimony focusing on our student’s unmet needs. This is a CALL TO ACTION. For more information visit or visit FACEBOOK @NEANM1886.
